German superstar says she was mugged at a Thailand seashore, Phang Nga police investigate

While on a visit to Thailand, Cathy Hummels, the wife of German footballer Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund, was allegedly mugged. She told German media that she was hit by a stranger and robbed at a seaside in Thailand. Some of the stories repeat her claims that she was mugged on the southern island of Phuket, however native police say they’ve investigated the claims and believe the incident didn’t happen on the island.
Later investigations indicate that the incident occurred directly north of Phuket in Phang Nga province (more below).
According to reports in overseas media, Cathy stated her experience in Thailand “was a nightmare”. She says she was in Phuket for three weeks to movie the Battle of Reality Stars TV present. On the final day of her trip, she needed to relax out on the seaside to say goodbye to Phuket. But she claims somebody hit her on the head.
Reports say she tried to beg the thief to cease, telling him to take no matter he wanted and let her free. She says that she had solely a cellphone with her, and the thief took it and fled away. She then ran to the hotel for security. She reported the incident to the police and decided to take a flight to Dubai that night time to be together with her baby.
Thai media shared that they tried to contact the Commander of Phuket Provincial Police Station, Sermpong Sirikong, about the incident, however officers initially did not have any data to give reporters.
Meanwhile Phang Nga Police, simply north of Phuket, now say the theft occurred on a Khok Kloi beach, not Phuket. Profit say they are actively working to seek out the alleged assailant..
