Kenyan firm plans large cold chain facility in East Africa

A leading Kenyan warehouse and logistics service provider Cold Solutions, says it’s going to make investments USD 70 million to construct the largest chilly chain facility in East Africa to address challenges that face transportation of perishable goods.
Cold Solution’s 15,000 sqm flagship facility in Tatu City Special Economic Zone in Nairobi would be the largest, most superior and environment friendly within the area. The cold chain facility is flexibly designed to cater for quite a few temperature ranges from +26 to -40 C and multiple product ranges, from contemporary fruit and greens, to prescribed drugs and vaccines, meats and poultry, and frozen foods.
Cold Solutions Kenya is a portfolio company of ARCH Cold Chain Solutions East Africa Fund, a non-public equity fund advised by ARCH Emerging Markets Partners Limited (ARCH).
